About CCDS
The mission of Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School is to facilitate development of dancers into skilled and aware artists. Artists who can take full charge of their own professional careers and make a difference in the world through the art of dance.
A strong focus on dance as a craft, physical, mental and artistic abilities, continued artistic reflection and practical management skills make Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School a strong point of departure for future job takers and job creators within the international dance community. The students at CCDS represent more than 20 nationalities which bring an amazing atmosphere to grow as dance artists and human beings.
The school offers 3 programmes:
- A 3-Year Diploma Programme for a selected group of international highly skilled and ambitious dancers.
- A 1-Year Post-Graduate Programme designed for dancers who recently completed their professional dance education (Diploma or Bachelor degree) and are looking for guidance in the individual specialisation, performance experience, networking and solid career guidance.
- A 3-Month Post-Graduate Programme An intensified professional support for dance artists to develop their artistic voice, technical skills and career possibilities further.
COOPERATION
CCDS cooperates with a number of cultural institutions. Our primary studio space is hosted at GAME Streetmekka in central Copenhagen. The dancers at CCDS will share a lot of classes together across the first-, second- third year, post graduates and professional dancers.
Studio
Our primary studio space is found at GAME Streetmekka in central Copenhagen which also offer an indoor parcour hall and an indoor baskethall. We think we have the most buytiful studio in town. Our lovely nabours are the national circus education, a venue for music, a huge indoor skatehall as well as several independent production companies working in the building and studios next door. Outdoor you find parcour facilities, street basket facilities, training facilities and in the summer often events and concerts.
Organisation and cooperation
CCDS is a subsection of Copenhagen Dance Arts; an independent cultural institution presenting dance arts nationally and internationally. Copenhagen Dance is the producer of Copenhagen International Dance Festival as well as a long lit of professional productions. Click here to read more about the festival.
The students at Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School often take part in workshops in regi of the festival as well as performance posibilities often arise. CCDS cooperates with a number of cultural institutions both in Copenhagen and internationally.
