Tina Højlund

Ballet

Tina Højlund has an impressive career behind her as a soloist at the Royal Danish Ballet. She trained at the Royal Ballet School and was appointed soloist in the company in 1998. She is a dancer with strong presence in the classical repertoire of Bournonville’s ballets such as Teresina in “Napoli” (1998), Effy in “La Sylphide” (1999) and Birthe in “A Folk Tale” (2002). Also in main parties as Kitri in “Don Quixote” and Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet”. Tina Højlund is a dedicated dancer in both the classical and modern repertoire and is in Denmark known as that very gifted dancer who masters both repertoires. She is nationally known for contemporary dancing in Tim Rushton’s “Sweet Complaint” (1998), “Naples – the new” (2003) and Alexander Kølpins new version of “Sylfiden” (2001). Tina Højlund was for a number of years a regular dancer in Denmarks famous contemporary dance company “Danish Dance Theatre”.
