1-year Post Programme

Auditions in Spring 2019 for entering 1-year Post Programme 2019-2020:

– Catania (IT) March 23rd-24th 2019 (See note below)*
– Copenhagen April 10th 2019
– Copenhagen April 29th 2019

It is only necessary to attend one audition period.

We advise you to apply at least 3 weeks before the audition since we need to watch your videos and application and let you know if you are invited for the audition. However, we do accept applications up to 5 days prior to the audition.

*Note: The audition in Italy are facilitated by the local dance festivals,  La Stella Di Domani (Catania), respectively. Please contact the administration of the festival to find more information on how to sign up for the audition for CCDS. Please also fill in the application form below.

If you are non-EU citizen applying for the 1-Year Post Programme, you have the option of an alternative audition by video without in-person audition. Please send your request to info@cph-dance.com.


An unquestionable dedication to develop into dancers who wish to exceed and expand the international level and capability of contemporary dance. Sound technical versatility, a great personal drive, an open mind and a positive approach to possibilities and challenges are essential. Profound basic experience in contemporary dance and ballet alongside extremely high ambition and an exceptional talent for movement is required. It is emphasized that candidates has a strong appetite for developing their artistic reflection and body potential through working at a high physical level throughout the day.

Candidates between 18 and 26 years of age may apply. Dispensation can be given in special cases.

Audition procedure

The audition lasts for one day and consists of contemporary dance or ballet, solo and interview. Each applicant must prepare a solo without music. For the interview please prepare a presentation of where you are in your dance career right now and where you wish to go from here.

Video audition:
– A presentation of yourself including your goals for your further dance career and how you want to achieve the goals through the postgraduate programme at CCDS
– 2 minutes solo
– 5 minutes excerpt of ballet including work at the ballet barre and centre work and covering both Adagio and Allegro
– 5 minutes excerpt of contemporary including floorwork
– 3 minutes improvisation focusing on articulation and phrasing

Applicants will be notified of their admission or non-admission to the course shortly after the audition and latest two weeks after.
Should you be invited to join the programme, please accept your place by paying the first instalment of the course fee within 3 weeks.

Dress code

You are requested to wear tight fitting clothes throughout the audition. Jewellery and wrist watches are not allowed and hair must be worn tied back, leaving the face and neck clear.
